Similar to the last post, oddly, here is what amounts to 20+ years of the Pet Shop Boys in what feels like 20 minutes, from the Brit Awards:
I love PSB, but this thorough run-through of their catalogue left me underwhelmed. I know, I know—Neil has always said there is nothing wrong with lip-synching, but most of this is lipped and it just begs the question: Why do we even need to see you on the stage? The way-cool projections are more interesting. I found this to be nostalgic (and it pains me that PSB are stuh-rictly an '80s oldies act in the U.S.), I loved Mor-man Brandon Flowers doing "It's A Sin" and Lady GaGa might have been interesting had she had more to do, but overall, it just made me want to go back and listen to their albums. Their catalogue is alive, but their presence is...not dead so much as unnecessary.
I am glad they're still so revered in the UK, though. One of the best pop groups ever!
