When I read stories like this one, about how the Iraqi Militia are murdering gay men by applying a surgical-grade glue to their anuses and then inducing lethal diarrhea, I just can't understand how anyone would believe that people are basically good, or that God exists. 

Less broadly, as Joe says, aren't we running that fucking country?
