In my opinion, when esteemed gay-rights advocates are going along with Bill O'Reilly's phony bash-Obama talking points (his popularity is not sinking, health care is not a "death dance") or even going on his show at all in order to argue their point that President Obama hasn't done enough for the gays, either gay activism or President Obama's gay support has jumped the shark. Or both.
Difference is, Obama has plenty of time to come through for us (and I'm hoping that his HRC speech might be something of substance), and I'm not sure that his staunchest critics would know how to do anything but bite when he (finally) shows his hand.
It is all Obama's fault for not having kept us informed in the first place, and for the Rick Warren mistake and the DOMA brief disaster, but I sure wish our most prominent voices in response were less histrionic and more politically cunning.
