The Advisory Committee on Blood Safety and Availability of the Department of Health and Human Services has voted 9 to 6 against lifting the ban on gay men donating blood.

So if you're a man and you've had sex with a man since 1977, your blood is not welcome...even though there is absolutely no reason for it not to be used.
