A conservative group in Nevada masquerading as some kind of grassroots effort has produced one of the most grotesque ads I've ever seen, and that includes "Daisy," "Call Me, Harold!" and the ones that have merged the faces of various Democratic candidates with that of Osama bin Laden.

Called "Don't Vote," the ad claims that because the Democrats have not produced comprehensive immigration reform, Latinos should not vote. Never mind WHY the Democrats have had their hands tied on this and other progressive issues, just...don't vote.

I would point out to the many gay people rightfully and righteously pissed off at the Democrats that "don't vote" is exactly the message the anti-gay, anti-brown people, anti-working class right-wingers wish they could shove down all our throats. Because if the U.S. had 100% voter turn-out, Republicans would be the marginal party they deserve to be.

P.S. The ad's running in Nevada...maybe I'm just drunk, but why is Maxine Waters so prominently displayed? Her face comes up when the voice says "Democratic president" and "when they need our votes." I completely don't get it.
