King James Comments (5)

W
James Franco is considered a shoo-in to get an Oscar nomination for his role in Danny Boyle's 127 Hours, so says Entertainment Weekly—which also grants him the cover. I finally saw the film and found it beautiful, deeply felt and an amazing example of how a very simple situation can be explored at feature-length without feeling thin.

More of Franco—who's co-hosting the Oscars with Anne Hathaway—after the jump...

Final Curtain Comments (1)

149895_452087060973_37917485973_5925588_5249482_n Sadly, popular cabaret performer David Gurland suffered a cerebral hemorrhage December 29 and has died. He was only 41. My understanding is that his organs will be donated. This kind of sudden, senseless passing should give all of us pause as we assess our lives this New Year. Condolences to his partner, family and friends.

Maycon Silveira's ode to summer boys is more infectious than Dino's to "Summergirls"—and a lot more revealing:

The Have-Gay-Sexes And Have-Gay-Sex-Nots Comments (4)

National Enquirer's latest "Who's Gay & Who's Not" (January 10, 2011) is one of their lamest so far. Is a picture of Sandra Bullock mock-kissing Meryl Streep from almost a year ago really all ya got?

And don't get excited by "Sarah Palin: HER LESBIAN SECRET," because her lesbian secret is revealed to be that she's anti-gay and doesn't mind that her children are, too.

PhotoYou Old Dog, you!

Inside, the magazine claims John Travolta recently fought with his wife Kelly Preston, leaving her for a "boys-only vacation with "three buddies" at a spa where they all—wait for it—"got massages, skin treatments, had lunch delivered to them in the private sanctuary—and relaxed together in the steam room and Jacuzzi."

The official list of "Who's Gay & Who's Not"s:

Joran-van-der-sloot JORAN VAN DER SLOOT

Natalee Holloway's probable murderer...gay? Struggling for people to write about, NE includes him because he's now in "a Peruvian prison where AIDS is rampant and sexual assaults are a constant threat that he fights of on a daily basis. He'd better pray his fellow gay inmates never got to see him featured on the gay website, Planet Homo, which once displayed a full-frontal nude photo of the infamous 23-year-old Dutchman and poked fun at his manly shortcomings. Although a notorious womanizer, Joran is always watching his back." Because prison rape is huh-larious. I'm not losing sleep over anything bad happening to him, but I think rooting for prison rape is barbaric and homophobic. Plus, if he's nothing to look at naked, why would he have to fear his fellow gay inmates? And finally: Are the guys who are raping other guys in prison really gay? Hardly. (P.S. "Full-frontal nude" is not the same as "naked but covering it with your hand.")

Pain In The Ass Comments (8)

Michael-medved.2767204.40 Movie reviewer and conservative hobgoblin Michael Medved argues that sex between men is unnatural because:

"The most common sexual practice between two men involves an act of aggression—inflicting more pain than pleasure for at least one of the parties."

To that, I'd say:

Art013"Same-sex parenthood doesn't happen accidentally. You really have to want it."—Neil Patrick Harris

Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka show off their newborn twins in People (January 10, 2011), just like any other A-list Hollywood couple would. Harris describes the process of finding a surrogate:

"We found an egg donor anonymously through a hilarious process of looking at people's profiles and then an amazing surrogate who had helped a same-sex couple before. And then we inserted two eggs, one with my sperm, one with David's sperm and they both took."

Each daddy praises the other's skills so far.

A Down-Low Dirty Shame Comments (2)

365331Chris Brown with Andre Merritt

Chris Brown got into a low-down (and down-low) war of words with former B2K singer Raz-B, who has accused his former manager (and cousin) of molesting him back with the group was causing mayhem like this.

B2k Raz-B (pictured at front of group) started it up by wondering aloud—on Twitter—how men like Brown can dare to "disrespect women as Intelligent as @Rihanna."

Why he decided to bring this up now is anyone's guess, but Brown didn't appreciate it, and he went there fast, tweeting that Raz-B was a "Dick in da booty ass lil boy" and noting that all the attention for Raz-B meant he "shouldve did this first instead of telling the world you got raped."

Facebooks Of Death Comments (1)

WebCam_20101101_09191Avsenew's online photo is more appealing than his in-the-clink mug shot:

Suspect
Peter Serge Avsenew, the 26-year-old man arrested for the murders of partners Steve Adams and Kevin Mark Powell has a record including an open felony warrant. On his Facebook page, his comment about himself is: "I love my son and want the best for him which includes being with me." Boggles the mind why stuff like this happens.

Elton-John-and-David-Furnish
I really don't like Elton John. I think he's pretty nasty (which I suppose he atones for with his charitable work) and I think his decision to play Rush Limbaugh's wedding has much more in common with his decision to play Sun City at the height of apartheid than it does with his explanation about "building bridges."

So Many Man Comments (2)

2010-top-5
On Display Men's Top 5 men of 2010 are about as hot as it gets, but the site's users seem to have taste about as diversified as my inexplicably uniform "Guydar" installments! Even if they are the same type over and over...they work for me.
