Rihanna has cited Madonna as her #1 influence. When told of this, Madonna asked what a Rihanna was. Upon seeing her picture, she melted and started adoption proceedings.

Kidding aside, it's nice that most of the top-selling women (not Adele that I'm aware of, but Katy Perry, Lady GaGa and Rihanna) of today know that Madonna is their musical godmother.

Still, I want Madonna's next album to be entitled The Original. I think that's subtle, doesn't stoop to Bette Midler levels of turf protection and offers ample room for creative exploration.
