Bye-bye, Tim!

Michele Bachmann, as expected, won the Ames Straw Poll in Iowa, becoming the first female to win—and in a state that has never elected a woman governor, senator or Congressional rep.

But while the Straw Poll has rarely been right, rarely has it been so wrong—folks, Michele Bachmann is unelectable. Period. She exists solely to force the field to the right (her popularity has already crushed "normal" Republican Tim Pawlenty) and probably hopes to be someone's VP.

But she's so polarizing and her negatives will be sky-high the longer she's a major player that I believe the eventual nominee, probably milquetoast flip-flopper Mitt Romney, would rather pick someone like Tim Pawlenty. Or, if Romney feels he needs to reely in the right, he could draft Huckabee, who's far, far less offensive to most people (not necessarily deservedly so) even though he and Romney seem to loathe one another.
