Longtime soap diva Maureen Garrett, famous for her stint on The Guiding Light, has come out as gay, according to Globe (October 29, 2012). She's been in a committed relationship for 20 years and has three sons.

Of note is Globe's framing of her "stunning secret" and this particuarly obnoxious paragraph:

"When asked how she managed to portray a straight woman so convincingly for all those years, Maureen explains, 'It was acting!'"
