Stay strong, Marmeron!

Mark Smalley and his domestic partner Cameron Gray are currently embroiled in a major immigration battle with the U.S government, one that started when Gray visited his family in Australia then was detained and deported back there when customs officials felt his passport showed he intended to stay in the U.S. He did, in fact, intend to stay here—he's lived and worked here for a dozen years legally, only recently losing his job and therefore his toehold.

This happened in spite of an Obama Administration written policy meant to curb deportation of same-sex partners who pose no security risk.

Their story will appear in this documentary.

On a personal note, I randomly met Mark in the pit at MDNA in L.A. He was charming, and was holding a photo of Cameron with him, where his partner was supposed to be. Wishing them all the best in untangling this unnecessary mess.
