My pal Greg brought this video to my attention—it's the Andrews Sisters and the Supremes meeting and singing each other's hits. Just a spectacular pop-cultural moment, one I'd never heard of until today. So fun to hear them interpret each other's work. Interesting how the Andrews Sisters put an extra "cloying" quality into their Supremes renditions, or is it just more that they were good-naturedly playing up the sex-kitten quality of those simplistic, impossibly catchy tunes?

Regardless, it feels like a generous passing of the torch/appreciation of the past...
