You may have heard about the pastor who wrote a bitchy note on her bill, attempting to leave her hard-working Applebee's server (she was with a party of 20) no tip instead of the automatic 18%. If not, the whole sordid story is here. Well, now the pastor's actions—which went viral—also include getting a server fired for whistle-blowing on her low-class, mean-spirited behavior.

Pastor Alois Bell of Truth in the World Deliverance Ministries (baed in St. Louis), after sanctimoniously writing "I give God 10% why do you get 18" on her bill, was outraged to discover that her attempt to dodge the perfectly fair 18% tip had been posted to Reddit by an Applebee's employee. So she called the restaurant and demanded that everyone on duty be fired! While I can sympathize with Applebee's for deciding to make an example out of the employee who posted the note (it's not a good precedent for employees to be sharing our receipts, complete with our signatures and, potentially, other identifying info), I think in this case firing was an overreaction. When a customer is that horrendous, some concession must be made to the sanity of and the rights of your worker.

Worst, most softball-lobbing interviewer ever. (And Bell takes the Lord's name in vain!)

This "Pastor" Bell is a real piece of work. She comes into a restaurant with a large party, thinks 18% is too high and attempts to scratch it out (she was billed the 18% anyway and later claimed to have also left $6 cash), writes a holier-than-thou message on the receipt and wants the entire staff of a restaurant to be unemployed.

Your fucking cheeseburger is not worth all that fuss.

And one thing I haven't seen anyone bring up yet is: Does she really give 10% of everything she makes to the chuch? I would be willing to be my immortal soul that she doesn't. She sounds like a big, self-important charlatan who couldn't do anything else so starting yelling at the top of her lungs on some two-bit pulpit.

I really hope this ends badly for her, but I imagine if religious flocks can forgive whoremongering and financial malfeasance in their leaders, hers will probably look the other way when it comes to being a high-maintenance cheapskate.
