Lady & the Tramp? Queen & Court Jester?

I just can't accept that any significant number of Lady Gaga's fans, even her diehard Little Monsters, would be as monstrous as this. It is either a cult-like but minuscule group of complete idiots (like Seth Monster, who has posted here), it's a deranged Madonna fan trying to make Gaga's fans look worse than some of them already look or it's the work of diehard trolls who just want to stir shit and don't have a horse in the Madonna vs. Gaga race.

But...there is apparently a group of Gaga's fans protesting Madonna appearing at (what will they say when she's presented with one?) the GLAAD Awards. Why? Well:

"It has come to the attention to Little Monsters everywhere that you are letting Madonna give an award to Anderson Cooper. Not only is this an insult to a true gay rights activist like Lady Gaga, but it insults every gay man and woman on this planet.

"Madonna is one of the major reasons for AIDS. Back in the 1980’s, she encouraged gay men to have unprotected sex. While she certainly didn’t start the disease, she and her lack of morals helped it spread.

"Please rethink your choice of having Madonna as a presenter. If you don’t, we Little Monsters will strike back in a way you won’t like.

"Sincerely,

"Lady Gaga’s Little Monsters"

Look, Madonna fans can be assholes. There's plenty of crowing about Gaga's injury and tour cancelation and other below-the-belt commentary. But why have the craziest Little Monsters always gone there with AIDS? I have comments on my blog going back to the first time when Madonna and Gaga's rivalry reared its head with Gaga fans slurring Madonna with AIDS comments. (Come to think of it, Mariah's looniest Lambs used to bring that up, too, and I'd have to scratch my head over how presumably flaming gayboys could be so callous with their language regarding AIDS.) These are the kinds of horrendous things we'd expect out of Westboro.

It's just pop music. Love Gaga or love Madonna or love both or don't love either, but the hatred is just sickening and is a stain on popular culture.
