Joseph Gordon-Leavitt covers Men's Health (October 2013). In the story, I learned his grandfather directed Pillow Talk with Doris Day and Rock Hudson, and was blacklisted during the McCarthy Era. Not surprising, considering how creative and edgy this guy is himself.
The thoughtful star says of his life:
"I wrestle with [anxiety, heartache, career-in-transition-stuff, relationship-in-transition stuff] all the time. My life has become a series of questions. Why am I doing the work I'm doing? Why am I friends with with person? Am I living the best life I possibly can? Questions are often looked upon as doubt, but I don't see it that way at all. I question things to stay present, to make sure I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing. So I just keep asking."
