Christians better pray if they're going to attempt to snatch away the rights of LGBTQ people.
Politico reports that Trump has summoned hardcore Christian conservatives to the White House for a Thursday signing of an executive order that will grant businesses ample leeway in the hiring and firing of people based on their sexual orientation and gender.
Rumor has it the language has softened not one iota since the plan was first leaked shortly after Trump's inauguration — so much for the positive influence of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner.
Turns out Christian conservatives were against sharia law out of envy — they wanted their own version. They're getting the beginnings of it.
This is a milestone moment in LGBTQ rights, one that can not go unanswered in every conceivable way. This year's Gay Pride Marches should be more militant and less about beer companies with expensive floats. A March on Washington in June should coalesce.
People who argue that businesses should not have to serve any one particular person are arguing that people who are already marginalized should face even more marginalization. Move away if you're in a conservative area? So the onus is on the individual to get money and uproot his or her life? That's un-American, and that's wrong.
Thanks again to all those LGBTQ Americans who voted for and foolishly supported Trump, absurdly believing he was pro-gay even though he never did anything to prove it, and absurdly refusing to believe that Hillary was and is pro-gay in spite of her many words and deeds in support of that position.
