That pre-dawn raid on former Trump flunkie Paul Manafort's home the FBI is said to have conducted coincided with Trump easing up on the antagonism toward the agency that may hold his fate in its hands.
As a usually Trump-friendly Fox News talking head pointed out ...
... I have issued so many search warrants. When they come to you for a search warrant, they have to tell you they can’t get this by any other means, and it is likely to be destroyed or removed, and we need this AWESOME POWER, literally breaking down a door of a white collar person at 5:30 in the morning, we need this awesome power, and we need it now. That tells me there is a THERE there.
Bold is Wonkette's.
So in his opinion, and again, he is typically a Trump apologist, the judge who issued the search warrant was convinced there was probably criminal wrongdoing, and the danger of evidence being destroyed.
That plus the news that Manafort may have been the source of the info that the Trump Jr./Russia meeting occurred tells us that Manafort seems to be trying to save his own skin and Trump's expense, and that Trump is likely trying to toss Manafort to the wolves.
