Look Back In Anger Comments (0)

In Arena Homme + (Summer/Autumn 09), Juergen Teller shoots and Horacio Silva interviews the notorious Kenneth Anger, gay experimental filmmaker, author of the heartlessly salacious Hollywood Babylon (which would put hair on Perez Hilton's chest) and occultist. The reclusive and polarizing figure speaks at length as he promotes a self-titled show at PSI Contemporary Art Center on Long Island, up through September 14.

Fascinatingly, Anger says there will be no Hollywood Babylon 3 by him, chiefly because of libel issues. When asked about Scientology, he says:

Bruce's Boys Comments (5)

Bruce Weber's "A Handprint Of A Friend" feature from Arena Homme + (Fall/Winter 08/09) profiles numerous delicious pieces of trade that he just could not resist photographing and profiling. Is it deeper than that? I think not. Nor does it have to be.

I Never Forget A Peter Comments (0)

Here's a blast from the not-so-distant past—for Arena Homme + (Fall/Winter 08/09), Bruce Weber shoots Peter Johnson, who was the subject of an instantly sold-out book as well as the movie The Chop Suey Club in 2000. He shows us Peter's burgeoning family (he's married with three kids) and reproduces a bizarre (to me) letter to his former obsession that waxes horny about his growth as a man and their long friendship. "Stay strong, Pete," Bruce sums up, as butch as anyone. Still, fun to see that Johnson hasn't changed an iota.
