Charlie Crist completes his transformation—he's now a Democrat.

Former Florida governor and former Republican Charlie Crist appeared at the DNC to hype President Obama's desire to find common ground and to stress issues especially important to his home state. Love how he continually refers to Ronald Reagan and compares him to President Obama, a good message for swing voters...

Charlie Crist, the former governor of Florida once considered to be a top contender for John McCain's veep, but who later left the Republican Party, has endorsed President Obama:

"I applaud and share his vision of a future built by a strong and confident middle class in an economy that gives us the opportunity to reap prosperity through hard work and personal responsibility."

Finally, an announcement from Crist that I can agree with. Though there is another announcement he should eventually make....

Florida's second most recent corrupt governor, Charlie Crist, is STILL battling gay rumors. This time, the news is enmeshed with accusations of corruption so it's not simple gossip. Hopefully he gets nailed on his bullshit this time.

The Six Pack packs in a good Q&A with Mike Rogers of BlogActive.com, who always seems to know exactly who's gay and who isn't gay in the world of politics. He called Larry Craig so far back Craig was probably still calling anal sex "Greek active" and Rogers has never been wrong.

Of the recently out Mehlman, who's been getting support from recently out Roy Ashburn:

"Here’s a man who did exactly what Ken Mehlman did for many many years….Any time anybody comes out and is able to say I’m gay, this is a good thing.  Someone like Ken Mehlman has been so heinous when you look at what he has done…There’s so much that he should be atoning for….and someone like Roy Ashburn of course will come to the defense of a Ken Mehlman because he’s really coming to the defense of himself….I’m glad to see that Ashburn has his changed ways, but Ken Mehlman has some answering to do."

The Six Pack has Barney Frank's first post-Prop 8 interview, and it's chock-full of interesting morsels, like his reiteration that he thinks President Obama's official stance on marriage equality is a political calculation.

One thing that sticks in my gay craw: He wags his finger at Kathy Griffin's joke about Scott Brown's daughters, saying they "didn't choose to be in politics and they shouldn't be targets" without acknowledging that they did choose to publicly campaign for their father and therefore should be targets.

On gay Republicans:

"If you're a gay Republican, you're essentially given the rule that, 'It's okay, we won't hold it against you 'cause you're gay, 'cause you couldn't help it. But if you purport to be happy about it then we're gonna kick you out.'"

Instead, its hits are solid and they land on well-known closet cases Charlie Crist, Larry Craig and David Dreier while also taking a swipe at Aaron Schock, whose sexuality seems to be in question largely due to his good looks, good body and, well, the belt.

Now that Charlie Crist is an Independent, will Republicans suddenly decide it's a great idea to out him after all? 

I'm sorry, but there is no way the man on the left can stay on the right and still become Florida's next senator. Not after this latest Obama photo op. Charlie Crist HAS TO BE about to go Democratic before time runs out. He met with Obama at the president's town hall in Florida today and has been fending off vicious attack for last year's man-hug with the commander-in-chief.

Charlie Crist is not my favorite person—I'm not fond of closeted power-brokers with shady connections. But he's one of Florida's favorite persons, so if he were to run for Senate as a Democrat instead of a Republican (the latter of which is looking sketchy due to a teabagger challenger in the primary), he'd probably win. 

Despite taking heat for loving him some Obama, Crist is about to appear alongside Obama in Florida. If this actually happens, it would guarantee he's about to switch to the Democrats.
