Details will cease publication after the December 2015 issue—nobody buys magazines, nobody advertises in them anymore. I will miss this mighty mag. For many years, they would send me handout photos to use of their hottest spreads in exchange for promo. Free pics of Idris Elba and Zac Efron are a premium in the blogging biz.

I preferred the old Details, which was a downtown bible. It was always so odd to me that it was so thoroughly re-imagined ... why not just do a whole new magazine? But they had good success with it for a very long time, so I guess I was wrong.
