What kind of language will be used to describe Dear? Probably not “thug” or “terrorist,” maybe just “crazy.”

Robert Lewis Dear, a 57-year-old man from North Carolina, opened fire inside a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, Colorado, yesterday.

Dear killed three, including a police officer. 

It's worth noting that police were able to take this shooter alive—no 16 gunshots, no execution.

President Obama referred to this shooting as “not normal. We can't let it become normal,” while the mayor of Colorado Springs, John Suthers, said the motive was not known but that inferences from where it took place “could certainly be made.”
