Just days after the arrest of Paris terror suspect Salah Abdeslam in Belgium, a string of explosions—including one possible suicide bombing—have rocked the airport and subway in Brussels.
The attacks have killed over 30 people and injured up to 200.
Islamic State has taken responsibility for the attacks.
President Obama said:
We will do whatever is necessary to support our friend and ally Belgium in bringing to justice those who are responsible. This is yet another reminder that the world must unite. We must be together regardless of nationality, or race, or faith, in fighting against the scourge of terrorism. We can and we will defeat those who threaten the safety and security of people all around the world.
Hillary Clinton's response called for more coordination with the Europeans and rejected Donald Trump's call for a return to torture. Bernie Sanders hasn't yet responded, and who really cares what Ted Cruz thinks?
UPDATE: Bernie weighs in:
It’s important we not succumb to bigotry. We are fighting a terrorist organization killing innocent people. We are not fighting a religion.
