Ryan Murphy's latest TV anthology series is Feud, and will center on the long-running hate-hate relationship between screen queens Bette Davis and Joan Crawford.

Let that settle in.

We will watch the women do battle over an eight-episode arc, all of which will take place during their legendary collaboration on the classic film What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?

Who wants to bet that if it's picked up, the next arc will be about Joan Fontaine and Olivia de Havilland?

(Sidebar: Jane is simply the best, but it might be the story most misappropriated for use as a slur against any woman not acting her age. See: Madonna. It's intellectually a very lazy comparison. Sunset Boulevard is right behind it.)

Just for comparison's sake: Davis was all of 53 when she shot the film, though people tend to think of her as having been far older. Crawford was a more flatteringly styled and made up 56. Sarandon, still considered a sex object, turns 70 this year, while Lange just blew out 67 candles. So, some progress has been made on our cultural estimation of when women are over the hill.
