Above, Katie Couric sat down with Sarah McBride ahead of her historic appearance at the DNC tonight, where she will become the first openly trans person to address a national political convention.

McBride talked a lot about LGBTQ inequality, North Carolina's heinous bathroom bill, as well as violence against trans women, especially trans women of color, previewing her speech.
