I've been a fan of Nick Youngquest's ever since he was on the cover of DNA several years ago. I may or may not own more than one calendar featuring his ruggedly handsome face.

So when I was invited to an event featuring Nick (now the the global face of Invictus by Paco Rabanne) and Dr. Emily Spilchal demonstrating the NABOSO Barefoot Training Mat, I knew I had to go.

I had no time! I had to walk 20 blocks over and 20 back, then get to my own workout... but I made it, and was able to meet Nick, grab some shots for you and for me, and check out the mats.

More info on the mats from a press release:
People seemed excited about the mats, and Nick was super nice. He had the class of mostly women (with one very notable exception) paying close attention to his moves. One thing learned: The only problem with working out barefoot is people can see when the instructor is making your toes curl.
Check out the mat if you're interested in shucking your shoes for a whole new way of working out.
