Katy Perry's “Bon Appétit” music video seems like a big, post-feminist joke, presenting the singer as, well, food. But while the video is tongue-in-cheek, the song sounds unironic to me. Also, pleasant but forgettable.

Miley's new one, “Malibu,” is like when you yawn at the beach and sand gets in your mouth. Totally not buying this sound, nor this highly styled earth mama phase. She looks totally unnatural while sitting, trying to seem like a nature girl.

The jig? Give me a break.
