When Boy Culture hit the film fest circuit in 2006 (we played Tribeca, Outfest and many, many more), it was a dream come true for me — a movie based on my novel was actually being seen. In 2007, it went to the next level, achieving an international run in movie theaters.
Now, in the final days of the Kickstarter meant to rev up a 10-years-later sequel — Boy Culture: The Series — I'm looking back at a few pics from the first go-round ...
Boy Culture starred Derek Magyar as cocky, emotionally unavailable hustler X, Darryl Stephens as his reluctant love interest Andrew and Jonathon Trent as Joey, their prototypical twink roommate Joey.
In the course of the film, opens up to Gregory (Patrick Bauchau), a much older man who is both his client, his mentor and one very sly individual.
Check out some of the pics from that era below, and please give to our Kickstarter today — it's almost over, and we're almost there!
