I am not into the song, but Taylor Swift's “Look What You Made Me Do” video, even if you don't care about her petty-ass rivalries and score-settling, is a creative, beautiful, compelling visual feast.
This is a classic ...

In the clip, Swift seems to settle scores with Katy Perry, Kanye West & Kim Kardashian, Tom Hiddleston, former squad members like Karlie Kloss, Lorde and Ruby Rose, and even music-streaming services.
Man, this girl has a long list of enemies:
I agree with the video's director that it does not seem to tread on Beyoncé's art space. There may be some influences here and there (Michael Jackson's “Thriller,” duh), but nothing is convincingly aped from anyone else. At this point, very few visuals are going to be wholly new, but the way they're shot and presented and their context makes them new. That's pop culture, and this is a great work.
