More bad news if you're Kevin Spacey: An anonymous man, now 48, has opened up to Vulture to describe a sexual relationship he engaged in with Kevin Spacey when he was 14 and Spacey was 24.

Disturbingly, Spacey allegedly told him that he had first been attracted to him when they first met — when the kid was 12 — but had stayed away. Because I guess 14 is ... better.

Spacey flatly denies this account through a spokesman. It should be noted that Vulture would not publish just any random, anonymous account if it had not verified certain aspects of the story, so while an anonymous story may seem unfair, it is journalistically sound, even if it can't be proven ...

This was the part of the story that really caught my eye:

When I turned 25, I looked at every 14-year-old boy I could see, to try to understand what those men had seen, because I still on some level thought I had been a tiny adult. That whole year I was 25, I tried to just see the ones who were like six-foot-two, and 200 pounds — they all looked like children. They all looked like somebody who was 10 years old four years ago. Nobody looks fuckable.

The guy readily admits he was sexually active already at 14 when he met Spacey (he was being abused but thought it was cool at the time), with a cousin 10 years his senior. He was thrilled by Spacey's attentions at first, and only over time did he realize something wasn't normal. Their final meeting, as described, was a clear case of attempted rape.

I find he anonymous complainant's frankness and self-analysis really useful, even if this story isn't something that can be legally held against Spacey himself.
