The Columbus Dispatch: Married, anti-gay Rep. Wes Goodman (R-Ohio) resigned Tuesday after being caught having sex with a guy in his office:

House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger, R-Clarksville, met Tuesday afternoon with the Cardington Republican soon after the speaker became aware of an incident from weeks ago in the lawmaker’s office that, sources said, involved a male in a consensual situation.

No harassment complaint, sexual or otherwise, was filed against Goodman. But someone, reportedly not a staffer, who knew of or witnessed the incident informed House Chief of Staff Mike Dittoe of the situation early Tuesday afternoon.

Huff Post: Come on. Sen. Al Franken (D-Minnesota) is now being painted with the same brush as Roy Moore and Donald Trump (who got away with actual sexual assault scot-free, but who's counting?) for boorishly posing for a boob-grabbing pic while on a USO comedy tour? He has apologized for the photo in question, taken while the woman in question was asleep, but denies that he forced a kiss on her during a comedy-sketch rehearsal in 2006. I don't see this as comparable to what Kevin Spacey and Harvey Weinstein and others did, I see this as score-settling for jerkish humor. I guess the avalanche of serious allegations has been having the effect of making lesser complaints — and some are really lesser — seem ridiculous. Where does this end? Because plenty of men have done stupid stuff like this, stuff that shouldn't be talked about in the same breath as allegations of rape and sexual abuse, including many famous men who've escaped it affecting their careers (Schwarzenegger, etc.). Of course, Mitch McConnell is demanding an investigation.

Franken's apology is a first — it agrees with Leeann and asks for an ethics investigation — into himself!

There has to be some kind of reconciliation — we can't conflate child abusers, serial rapists and people assaulting others for sexual gratification with men being assholes or oblivious (plenty of liberals are already saying Joe Biden, for whose ticket they happily voted twice, is ineligible to be POTUS because he seems to get too close to women.

This isn't a Democratic vs. Republican thing — I have no room in my heart for Spacey and Weinstein, for example. This is about degrees. And what an absurd world if Trump is okay as POTUS but Franken needs to be investigated.

She's pretty funny and seems like someone you'd love to hang out with, as opposed to some comics, who are pretty funny but of whom you'd be too terrified to see socially.
