Cardi B is attacking the people who called out her fiancé Offset (of Migos) for his homophobic lyrics, feigning ignorance that “I cannot vibe with queers” would be offensive and then actually saying some pretty ignorant things ...
Offset rapped, “I cannot vibe with queers,” then hilariously responded to the ensuing outcry by saying he didn't mean it in an anti-gay way, he meant it as a description of a woman feeling she was being watched by paparazzi. Which is an interpretation no one in the world has ever used or heard or would get. (Plus, how embarrassing that rappers flip through the dictionary to find words for their rhymes.)
Now, in a series of videos, Cardi B whines:
It has a different vocabulary on the dictionary. Now, that’s a word that you guys say that it’s a bad word for gays -- I never even heard that word in the first place. Why don’t y’all educate people about it? A lot of people are not aware about what’s wrong or right in the LGBT community. Why don’t we do things to educate instead of bashing and trying to label something that they not?
So now it's a gay person's duty to explain to people why a rapper saying he can't vibe with queers is offensive. I refuse to believe she's never heard the word queer used to describe gay people — come on! It's an old, old word that was repurposed since before she was born.
Plus, she doesn't have any concerns about blithely having her hair and makeup done while addressing the controversy.
Don't amazingly successful artists like Offset and Cardi B have any kind of publicity or managerial team around them? This is fucking embarrassing:
