VOX: Some are mocking the newly unveiled official portraits of the Obamas, which are now on display at the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery, but I think they're fantastic. I love the Michelle one (which doesn't totally capture her, in a strict portrait sense). It's exquisitely composed and painted by Amy Sherald. Mr. Obama's work is by Kehinda Wiley. Both artists are prominent black artists, and far trendier than past artists consigned to deliver official portraits.

ABC13: Jocelyn Morffi, a popular first-grade teacher at a Miami-area Catholic school, was abruptly fired after posting her wedding photos and videos online. You guessed it, she's a lesbian. In the good-news department, many parents are outraged by the action and are working to try to get her reinstated, even as she prepares a lawsuit.
