She's not wrong! The quote comes from a profile in Glamour Magazine, in which she also comments on his out-there attitude toward being openly gay, saying:

It’s hard to explain. People will say things like, “Can he tone it down?” Or, “Well, I don’t care about his sex life.” Well, nobody’s talking about your sex life when you’re talking about your sexual orientation. No one’s even admitting to having a sex life. That’s somebody else connecting it. We’ve had couples here who are married or are seriously involved that are skating together, and after a performance they may kiss or embrace each other, and no one’s complaining about that. In fact, they’re thinking it’s quite adorable. And Adam hasn’t said a word about physical contact with anyone, but people criticize that. The ignorance bothers me.
