At a Monday-morning press court appearance, Crown attorney Michael Cantlon announced that alleged serial killer Bruce McArthur, 66, the man suspected of killing gay men in Toronto for many years, has been officially charged with yet another murder ...
Via Global News, the new victim was named as Kirushna Kumar Kanagaratnam, who was 37 when he died. He was allegedly murdered by McArthur sometime between September 3 and December 14, 2015. He hailed from Sri Lanka, moved to Scarborough in 2010 and — heartbreakingly — nobody noticed he was missing until some time after he was murdered:
The man was the person pictured in a widely distribued postmortem image released by cops in recent weeks.
Kanagaratnam is the first victim not known to have frequented the Toronto gay-village area.
Det. Sgt. Hank Idsinga updated the media at a 10:30 a.m. press conference, saying he does not know if all the remains have been fully identified because they're all dismembered.
He also referred to theories McArthur may have started his spree in the '70s, saying he has no evidence of this as yet.
