Lifelong Republican James Comey — who did his part to pry the presidency out of Hillary Clinton's grasp — has now seen the light, and is urging one and all to vote for Democrats this fall in order to keep Trump in check.

It's a pretty dramatic statement for a person in his unique position:

This Republican Congress has proven incapable of fulfilling the Founders’ design that “Ambition must ... counteract ambition.” All who believe in this country’s values must vote for Democrats this fall. Policy differences don’t matter right now. History has its eyes on us.
