Trump's personal lawyer, his trusted and once-loyal fixer, Michael Cohen, pulled three years' hard time at his sentencing hearing today:
Michael Cohen, President Trump's former lawyer and fixer, was sentenced to 3 years after pleading guilty to nine federal charges stemming from his failure to report millions of dollars in income making secret payments to women who claimed they had affairs with Trump. Legal Analyst Danny Cevallos says 36 months is close to the national average for similarly situated defendants.
Before being told of his future in the slammer, Cohen had this to say of why he broke the law:
It was my blind loyalty to this man that led me to take a path of darkness instead of light. I felt it was my duty to cover up his dirty deeds.
What are Trump's apologists saying now?
What would they be saying if it were Obama's lawyer going to prison?
Because what I would be saying if it were Obama's lawyer, is, “Oh, my God — I misjudged Obama. He's got to be a crook.”
