ABOVE: Summer's almost he — wait, it's, like, February? Fuck.
OMG BLOG (WORK UNFRIENDLY): Someone broke NYC's rule about not photographing plays — but they get a pass, because they captured Lee Pace's enviable nude frame in Angels in America. (I'm remembering the Seinfeld ep about making out during Schindler's List, though ...)
NYT: A Coast Guard officer and loyal MAGAt (he used “poca warren” to refer to Sen. Elizabeth Warren) planned to commit acts of mass terrorism, and kept a list of “traitors” he intended to off. They include:
NEWSWEEK: As has been increasingly obvious would happen, actor Jussie Smollett was indicted for felony disorderly conduct for allegedly filing a police report. In the future, people, do NOT question me or others over using the words allegedly and possible when it comes to crimes, even crimes we all feel sure happened. I had a FB friend unfriend me and call me a hypocrite and racist for raising questions about Smollett's story weeks ago, and my questions were respectful in a culture obsessed with snark and memes.
TOWLEROAD: Agreed — we should always err on the side of believing victims (of course, not to the extent that accused perpetrators are not given their day in court) because well over 90% of all reported hate crimes (and rapes) are real. It's not wrong to believe victims, it's just wrong to believe them without reservation, and with a suspension of disbelief. There are so many hate crimes that will never garner the attention that Jussie's hoax has — and there is a reason for that.
FACEBOOK: Mark MacKillop will be in residency at the Crown & Anchor with his show Body by Taco Bell.
GR8ERDAYS: Juicy gossip from The First Wives Club. Yes, it's 23 years old, but I can never get enough!
