Have been reporting (over at ExtraTV) on the tragic helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, this morning that killed nine people, among them basketball icon Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna.

Apparently, they were flying to basketball practice on his private 'copter, one of his preferred modes of travel.

Rumors are flying as to the IDs of the other victims (including a pilot), but the gossip that Rick Fox was on board has been shot down. I've heard a friend of Gianna's and her parents were on board, though.

Such a sad story. He just ended a brilliant career in 2016, and had moved on to other forms of entertainment, winning an Oscar in 2018 for an animated short based on a kids' story he wrote.
