Trump just announced that no travel from Europe (not counting the U.K. — for some reason) will be allowed for 30 days, and is encouraging people to stay home from work.
This, after calling coronavirus a hoax and saying it would go away, and saying it had been contained.
Dr. Fauci — who knows a thing or two about viruses — stated plainly that the worst is yet to come.
Now, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have tested positive — the first famous folks to declare their status. More to come, I'm sure.
And yet my timeline is still filled with people pooh-poohing this.

This doctor, who tested positive after helping patients in Madrid, posted his experience with the virus on social media. His case was relatively mild, with little coughing, but he said he felt the worst about nine days (!) after he tested positive, and was not cleared for three weeks. Another man, this one in Wuhan, also wrote about his much worse experience, which also lasted three weeks — and included violent coughing and the need for antiviral treatments and lung scans.
