Gregory and Travis McMichael have been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and murder in the slaying of Ahmaud Arbery, who, video shows, was hunted by the suspects and murdered simply because he was out for a run.
Arbery, an avid runner, was jogging through a South Georgia neighborhood a 1 p.m. on a Sunday. The McMichaels claim they thought he looked like a burglary suspect. Arbery tried to get away from the men, who were attempting to hold him (illegally), when he was shot and killed.
William Bryan, a neighbor of the McMichaels', was also involved, following along and shooting the video; he has not been charged.
The killing took place months ago, but outrage over the crime — and the lack of charges — blew up this week when video off Arbery's death hit the Internet.
Arbery's father recently demanded justice for his son's murder — let's hope that day is coming:
