Chuck Woolery, the former host of Wheel of Fortune and Love Connection, tweeted on July 12:
The most outrageous lies are the ones about Covid 19. Everyone is lying. The CDC, Media, Democrats, our Doctors, not all but most ,that we are told to trust. I think it's all about the election and keeping the economy from coming back, which is about the election. I'm sick of it.
Clearly, this tweet — retweeted by Trump —implies that COVID-19 is not real, is not a threat and is merely a phantom used to GOTV against Trump.
The following day, Woolery suddenly did a seeming about-face — perhaps because COVID-19 had hit close to home:
To further clarify and add perspective, Covid-19 is real and it is here. My son test positive for the virus, and I feel for of those suffering and especially for those who have lost loved ones.
Then, his account vanished.
Now, Woolery is rearing his ugly head again, claiming on the Blunt Force Truth right-wing podcast that he never said COVID was a “hoax.”
Regarding his son, he said he's asymptomatic, “so hopefully he's fine.”
Woolery spox Mark Young — of, I shit you not, Jekyll and Hyde Advertising — says of the 79-year-old A __ __ H A T's social media presence:
He is just taking a break from the abuse he has received from thousands of intolerant people who purposefully mislead people on his statement, including the media.
So never mind the 130,000 dead from COVID-19 in the U.S. — a number that could potentially hit a million thanks to people claiming that the medical establishment is lying to us about the virus — the real victim here is Chuck Woolery.
