Dolly Parton is full-on Black Lives Matter, telling Billboard in a wide-ranging new interview she supports the cause:
I understand people having to make themselves known and felt and seen. And of course Black lives matter. Do we think that our little white asses are the only ones that matter? No.
She also discusses renaming Dollywood's Dixie Stampede (it became just The Stampede) as a direct response to criticism that the attraction glossed over slavery in the Civil War:
There's such a thing as innocent ignorance, and so many of us are guilty of that. When they said “Dixie” was an offensive word, I thought, “Well, I don't want to offend anybody. We'll just call it The Stampede.” As soon as you realize that [something] is a problem, you should fix it. Don't be a dumbass.
