William Smith is an actor with an 80-year career, yet his generic name has probably conspired with his lack of a defining role to keep him mostly unknown except to diehard TV and movie buffs.

He's 88 today, and I think a guy who's been around long enough to show up in Meet Me in St. Louis, to become an in-demand physique model during the golden age of that phenomenon and to still have a project as recently as 2020 deserves a look-see.
