XTube, the enormously popular sex-video site that for more than a dozen years has allowed users to upload homemade porn for profit, is no more. The site will shut down completely on September 5.
It's clear this is the effect of such laws as SESTA/FOSTA on consensual pornography — meant to curb human trafficking and child porn, SESTA/FOSTA and the ripples made have made Tumblr unvisitable, led to eBay banning anything suggestive and now this.
Going online and reading the jubilant tweets from people who fancy themselves to be warriors against sex trafficking is not unlike a wade through the QAnon depths. They think all these companies were part of a global scheme to deliberately abuse people, and they don't care — at all — about the liberties being stripped from those who are obeying the law and who understand the word NO.
The liberal anti-porn brigade and the conservative anti-porn brigade are now one, and are enjoying making inroads that could feasily lead to the outlawing of pornography of any kind.
And if they tell you that's crazy, no one wants that — they're lying, and they won't admit it until they get it.
