RIP Ed Asner! (Full obit here.)

The 91-year-old TV legend died this morning at his home, according to his family. Asner was a delight to meet, and a liberal lion. When I met him once, I blurted out that I loved his politics even more than his acting and he kissed my cheek.

It's been a terrible year for Mary Tyler Moore as a show in particular — Asner is the third main cast member to die in 2021, leaving only Betty White, 99, alive.
