Lil Nas X has finally dropped his debut album (amazing — it feels like it has been out, considering all the singles!) Montero today, and it's accompanied by the music video for “That's What I Want.”

I am not typically enamored of his music, but I love this bop.

In the clip, we get an unapologetically sexual and romantic relationship between two Black gay men, stretched across scenes including a football game, a Brokeback Mountain setting, a homestead and — spectacularly — a wedding at which Nas, in white gown, has no groom and Tammy Faye-style mascara tears.

It's hard to overstate how momentous it is to see something like this in our culture being presented as mainstream. In the past, male rock stars were all about being as macho as possible. Gay male rock stars were closeted and butch. 

Meanwhile, Nas gets fucked in the ass in this video.
