After his one-man show in 2010 (Image via Matthew Rettenmund)
What obnoxiously sad news!
Leslie Jordan, the flamboyant comic actor who played Beverley Leslie on Will & Grace (both times) and whose Instagram exploded to 6M followers over the course of the pandemic, has died.
The 67-year-old apparently had some kind of medical event while driving his BMW in Hollywood, crashing into a building. I'm sure we will get more definitive details soon enough.
He was a true original on Will & Grace, unafraid to make use of his height or gayness to craft a man (?) you loved to hate. His scenes with Megan Mullally were inspired.
His one man show My Trip Down the Pink Carpet was a riot, but he had recently stopped doing it because he was financially well-off and didn't need to do it anymore — a good place to be! I also remember during his show he informed us Rue McClanahan was in poor health, and she died almost immediately after that.
RIP to this dynamo of authenticity and comic timing.
