GR8ERDAYS: Olivia Hussey and Leonard Whiting suing for sexual exploitation over Romeo and Juliet (1968) comes just before the end of an extension of the statute of limitations on such alleged crimes — and it opens up a lot of interesting issues. Should people who feel victimized ever be told “just get over it”? Even if they're secretly doing it just for cash, does that matter if the issue is provable? Is the nudity in the film of the variety that should be banned (it's clearly not porn, and clearly would pass any current legal tests)? Brooke Shields and Chris Atkins JUST talked about their much more salacious Blue Lagoon (1980) and seemed to be totally fine with that. (Though Hussey has seemed totally fine with R&J over the years, too, defending the nudity.) Just a lot to unpack!

Listen to Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins chat about Blue Lagoon from December right here. Interesting how they are simply laughing about Brooke being 14 and placed in salacious situations. To them, it seems a world apart from how Hussey and Whiting reacted.

HUFF POST: Kevin McCarthy has lost his fifth straight Speaker of the House vote, meaning no new members are sworn in and the House can't conduct business. Expect this level of anti-American dysfunction for two years.
