I'm sorry, but the Speedo lost. (Image via DNA)

Banned books, including Gender Queer — the most banned book of all, of late. (Images via Macmillan & Oni)
WAPO: First, they came for Nora Roberts ...
TWITTER: ... then they came for Betty White.
INSTAGRAM: Dylan Mulvaney, pubic enemy #1 for insecure right-wingers, has responded to the absurd, scary Bud Light backlash.
AMAZON: I went to the Strand Bookstore Q&A of my friend Fenton Bailey by Ronan Farrow on the occasion of the publication of Fenton's ScreenAge — my review here — and was really impressed. Nobody isn't ready to be impressed by Ronan Farrow, but I didn't expect him to be so thoroughly familiar with the book and so talkative. It wasn't a promo stop so much as a deep-issue massage on a variety of topics that ranged from the media to LGBTQ rights to history and why what's on the tee-vee is so dang important. Spotted: TV legend Sheila Nevins and America's Next Top Model alum Jay Manuel.

TIKTOK: Before pointing out YIKES things from the past turned into a bloodsport, we Gen Xers always loved doing it. I'm trying to get back into it, since I feel like I've established I'm not that judgmental about YIKES things from the past that were simply not viewed (or heard) the same way they would be today. Case in point: RIP April Stevens, 93. If you've heard of her, it was likely for her duet with her brother Nino Tempo on 1963's Deep Purple. But back in 1950, check out this cringey song she released:
RIP April Stevens, 93. She hit no. 1 with "Deep Purple," but also sang this obscure, problematic ditty from 1950 about a girl deciding whether to give in to her date sexually. I'm not surprised it hasn't been covered. Lovely vocalist. pic.twitter.com/QmU3LhDkgl

She could've dubbed Marilyn Monroe's singing voice, eh? Very breathy. We need a Donna Summer/April Stevens mashup.
I'll take 2. (Image by Joan Crisol for Modus Vivendi)
MODUS VIVENDI: Good grief! The Muslin Line II from Modus Vivendi is Wedding-themed, and yet — it looks more put-a-cockring-on-it to me.
Leigh (video still) & Hope (HBO Max)
OMG.BLOG!: A flashback to the late, great Leigh Bowery (who seems to have caused less uproar 40 years ago than harmless Trixie Mattel in 2023, considering all this drag blowback) reminded me that in the Perry Mason Season 2 finale — great show — Hope Davis, playing a cold-as-ice dyke doyenne, looked super-Leigh Bowery during her vintage beauty regimen.
YOUTUBE: In prep for the upcoming Noah's Arc reunion feature, check out their last reunion — The 'Rona Chronicles:
PINK NEWS: Non-binary actor Liv Hewson (Yellowjackets, another great show — I watch too many shows) has pulled out of Emmy consideration over gendered categories. Even if you're still last-century on gender, it is pretty weird, if you think about it, that we bother with gendered categories for performances,
