British actor Julian Sands, who went missing on a hike shortly after his 65th birthday in January, has been positively identified from human remains found this weekend in the Mount Baldy wilderness in California.

Sands had stayed missing so long due to the remoteness of where he had been hiking, as well as weather challenges. He was found by hikers who were not a part of an organized search.
