NBC NEWS: The Stroll is a new HBO doc that shines a light on the trans women who were sex workers in NYC's Meatpacking District back in the day:
Now a trans activist, actress and producer, [Kristen] Lovell said she was inspired to document her own story and those of her stroll sisters while participating in Film at Lincoln Center’s Artists Academy in 2019. As she watched a talk by the undisputed king of New York stories, Martin Scorsese, it suddenly clicked, Lovell said.
“It was like, ‘Oh, my God, I have the perfect New York story,’” she said. “That was the motivator.”
